My Experience Reading and Writing.
When I was younger I enjoyed reading a lot more than I do now, it is most likely because I enjoy sitting down and reading books
I like during my leisure time instead of materials, that I would never entertain reading otherwise. So far I have not done much reading in college,
but I have done a fair amount of writing up to this point. I have done more writing in the last five to six weeks then I have written in my entire life.
But I am looking forward to expanding my reading and writing skills both for my academic and personal life. I know it will be difficult but I am looking
forward to the challenge.
I definitely have always been more attracted to reading than I have ever
been to writing, this is because it is easier to read the book and become part of the story, instead of putting it into words which I have always found to be much more difficult. I never had to do much reading and writing for my school work ,and because of this I have usually found essays and other forms of writing to be somewhat intimidating and difficult. Whenever I did write it was about the books I read in my leisure time that nearly always consisted of historical fiction and nonfiction books ranging from the ancient Persian Empire to the ending of World War Two. |
I will do the assigned reading for my classes but I do not enjoy reading and
writing about it near as much as I would about a subject that I enjoy. But I guess that is always true about situations in our lives. In my present life I do not see myself as a writer; I have always found it difficult to put my feelings and or emotions into words. On the other hand I do enjoy reading a good book that is something that I definitely enjoy over writing. |
In conclusion I would like to say that as much as I do not stand out in my writings I am looking forward to this class and the challenges it will offer ,
to push me in new areas so that I can excel in areas of my reading and writing that I might not otherwise excel as quickly in.
So that I can further my skill for the benefit of my academic and personal life as well as strengthening my professional skills.
